I can’t believe summer has officially come to an end! While Cleveland is not too far from its insanely cold winters, i am still being reluctant to pack my summer clothes just yet! Sure, it’s good to be reunited with our plaids, woolens, and leather, but there’s something that feels so perverse about doing it at the expense of letting go of our favorite summer items. Call me crazy, but I am still loving my fun & colorful summer outfits.
This year has been all about experiments for me! Experiments with my hair, with indo-western attire, with blogging, trying new stuff and what not! And now i am really looking forward to experiment my favorite summer outfits in this transitional fall weather and soon to arrive chilly winters. Trust me when i say that there are many ways to extend the lifespan of your warm-weather pieces and wear them with your fall staples 🙂
So don’t pack away your summer pieces just yet! With just a few simple styling tricks you can take your favorite warm-weather basics into fall 🙂
This summer has been all about showing some shoulder! Whether it’s a ruffled off-the-shoulder dress or a chic cold-shoulder top, this trend has been spotted on almost all of my favorite bloggers including me lol and it shows no signs of slowing down. Some of these pieces should be strictly worn in the summer (like bright colors or fun prints), but there are multiple ways to transition this trend into fall.
So here are the few rules to keep in mind while wearing your summer cold-shoulders in fall:
1.) Opt for plains over prints.
2.) Pair them with fall necessities, like high waist jeans and ankle boots.
3.) Pair them with fall pieces, like suede shorts/skirts, hats, bombers, vests or trench coats.
4.) Opt for a shade of brown or grey for at least one piece of outfit to give it a feel of Fall.
5.) And the last rule is my favorite….which is “Forget all the rules” lol! Wear your summer outfits however you want and whenever you want. Just keep a jacket with you handy in case you finally start feeling cold 😛
Okay coming back to the cold-shoulder again. The cold shoulder top comes in all shapes and sizes. Blouse, tee, sweater, button down. You have a lot of options. In today’s post I am wearing this bright pink cold shoulder blouse i fell in love with from this amazing website www.makemechic.com ! I also wore a cold-shoulder LBD in one of my previous post in which i had introduced you all to 1 Face watch. I am really fond of cold-shoulders as they are perfect for every body type. It lets you show off the right amount of shoulder, less than off-shoulder and pretty comfortable too.
So for this post I decided to show you guys one way to pair your summer top with fall accessories with this pretty cold-shoulder top from Makemechic . This is my first collaboration with Makemechic and I am really excited about it. I had never shopped with them before, but was really surprised with their collection and amazing prices. The delivery was really fast and I was quite pleased with the quality of the top and the fit of it. And the best part is their fun and quirky collection with worldwide shipping! So to all my fans & fam in India, this website is a must try for all the online shopping lovers <3
I went with Rule #3 and paired my blouse with a fringed suede shorts from Hollister. The fringe and the suede material is itself the most loved trend in fall. I finally took out my ankle booties because even if i don’t want to believe that summer has ended, the truth is not gonna change 🙁
But the great thing about buying little booties is that they go with everything! Whether you’re wearing shorts like I am or a casual dress or pair of jeans, adding a pair of ankle boots will have your outfit looking more fall in no time.
